Just as my pile of drawings are growing, my digital files are also …

So I pulled some of them up.

Big differences from 2009-2010, even though I hardly do digital painting. Just look at all the skins…

White words indicate the time started ( and still not finished … ); Yellow words indicate other people's work that I used and Blue words indicate own creation.

Back in 2009, I had no idea how to paint digitally. I was trying to find a balance between cel coloring and realistic painting ( same case with drawing: to do as line art or shaded work ). How I did it then was to throw a base and work on mid-tones, shadows and highlights in that order. But I was bad at selecting colours, so work on the KH conceptual illustration stagnated. I went to do a reference painting instead which was Deep Dive: Riku ( Axel belongs to the same – screenshot is from ending credits of 358/2 days; eyes are looking like green jade balls LOL ).

Recently, I have worked a bit more on Synchronicity Len. This piece was started on Streetfest 2010, in PS' Starbucks while looking after my friends' things. It's really different from the initial digital sketch. Haha. Probably due to corrections based on what I learned in Advanced Drawing so far.

I downloaded Nijuuni's lineart to do something like cel coloring. It's looking … decent so far. Though I'm itching to paint it.

I should really pick one and get it fully done by end of the year…
